The pitch will not be laid until a week before the first event.

On the outside, Spurs are beginning to stamp their identity on the 62,000-capacity stadium, with the club’s motto – ‘To dare is to do’ having been installed on the exterior of the structure.

As well as hosting Spurs, the stadium will also provide the venue for the NFL encounter between Seattle Seahawks and Oakland Raiders on October 14.

Tottenham plan to play their opening league fixture of the season — against Fulham on August 18 — at Wembley, their temporary home during the redevelopment of White Hart Lane last season.

There have been minor setbacks for Spurs in the creation of their new home, wioth 15,000 seats at the £1billion ground having to be replaced after being installed without protective pigment, which made them vulnerable to bad weather.
