Riyad Mahrez revealed Manchester City had rivals beaten before kick-off during their record-breaking season.
The Algerian, who has been leaning on former Le Harve team-mate Benjamin Mendy for the inside track on City, lost twice against Pep Guardiola’s champions last term.
Mahrez was finally unveiled as a club-record £60million signing on Thursday after protracted negotiations with Leicester City, joining a team to have struck fear into the Premier League.

‘After City started winning every game you were like: “Ah, I think we’re going to lose today, it’s going to be difficult.” They beat everyone,’ Mahrez said.
‘The feeling isn’t being scared, but you are thinking you’re going to have to defend and it’s going to be difficult. At home (in November) we thought we could beat them but we lost.’
Mahrez – PFA Player of the Year in 2016 – believes City are ready to lift the Champions League and insisted he is relishing the fight for a starting berth under Pep Guardiola.
Mahrez believes he has what it takes to help the Man City team continue improving
‘They have everything to try and win it,’ he added. ‘It’s a goal. Now we have to work and see what can happen.
‘I know they have an ambition to go further. It’s a Champions League team, who want to win trophies every season. I want to be part of this.
‘It’s a club that wants to win this type of trophy, the Champions League is for big clubs and City is a big club.’
