A drunk and out-of-control Australian football fan dramatically interrupted a live TV interview during England’s World Cup semi-final by hurling a beer at a reporter’s face.
New Zealand reporter Lloyd Burr was barely able to get three words out when a man approached him, throwing a full pint of beer over his face.
In the footage, the experienced reporter recovers by wiping his drenched face with his hand and, without a missing beat, carrying on with a blow-by-blow account of England’s defeat to Croatia.

The man, later identified as an Australian fan by his accent, angrily approaches Burr once again and continues to shout abuse.
‘First time to Croydon, south London, and what an initiation!’ Burr wrote on his Twitter account on Thursday morning.
‘Apart from the beer in the face (by a drunken Aussie), it was an epic atmosphere to watch a great game,’ he said.
‘What a bunch of thugs,’ the New Zealand news anchor replied.
‘What a complete thug that guy is.’

France will now face Croatia in the World Cup final after Mario Mandžukić scored in extra time, giving Croatia a 2-1 win over England.
England supporters are mourning the loss and the Three Lions’ best chance to win the World Cup since their semi-final loss to West Germany in 1990.
Their only triumph in the tournament came in 1966, when they won on home soil.
Speaking to the MailOnline from Luzhniki Stadium, Sam Hunter-Brown, 23, of Aston, Birmingham said: ‘This is such a tragic night. We could’ve gone all the way. This year the World Cup had our name on it.
‘And we threw it away. But you’ve got to hand it to the team for getting this far. They’ve been incredible and lifted everybody back home.
‘They should still get a heroes’ welcome. ‘
