Karim Benzema, Alberto Moreno and Nathan Ake soak up sun on holiday

With no World Cup to keep them occupied this summer, Karim Benzema, Alberto Moreno, Nathan Ake and Oleksandr Zinchenko opted to soak up some sun on holiday.

Real Madrid striker Benzema has had a tumutltuous relationship with the France national team and has been overlooked continually by boss Didier Deschamps.

But while Les Bleus get set for their opening game in Russia, Benzema got his own thrill by riding a jet-ski while away on holiday.

Having scored in the Champions League final on May 26, Benzema appeared in good spirits as he took to his Instagram page to show off the glamorous resort he is staying at.

But he is not alone in wanting to top up his tan rather than watch the World Cup at home.

Liverpool defender Alberto Moreno went away with partner Lilia Granadilla as they had some fun on the beach.

It proved a difficult end to the season for Moreno as he was ousted at his club by Scot Andrew Robertson which ended faint hopes of making the Spain squad.

Writing on her social media, Granadilla captioned a cosy beach photo of herself and Moreno as ‘my daily vitamin’.

While Benzema and Moreno were simply overlooked by their national teams, Nathan Ake has known for a long time that he needed to make his own summer plans after Holland failed to qualify for Russia.

The Oranje are in a difficult period and failed to emerge successfully from qualifying – forcing Bournemouth defender Ake to plan out his own summer.

Out in St Lucia with partner Kaylee Ramman, who is a well respected jewellery designer, Ake enjoyed the tranquility of the sandy beaches and also tucked into a burger and chips when the pair stopped for some lunch.

Manchester City prospect Oleksandr Zinchenko will be looking to kick on under Pep Guardiola next season and showed he has been keeping in shape while away on his holiday.

The 21-year-old Ukrainian posted a photo of him showing off his abdominal muscles as he looks to leave his mark on the Premier League champions next year.
