Barcelona have been the leading club interested in the Frenchman after he enjoyed another stellar campaign under Diego Simeone in the Spanish capital.
And in true NBA style, which harks back to 2010 when LeBron James announced he would move to Miami Heat in a bizarre stunt live on television, Griezmann will reveal his future in the most dramatic of fashions.
Antoine Griezmann has revealed he will announce what his future holds on TV on Thursday
In a teasing video which was tweeted by Movistar+, Griezmann said: ‘You will be fed up by the comments that say if I leave, if I stay, how much they give me. But the truth is what I am going to say now.’
The show will be broadcast on Spanish TV station Cero at 9.15pm local time, which means it start at 8.15pm BST.
Gerard Pique, Barcelona’s stalwart defender, wasted no time in replying to the tweet, saying he will be watching with popcorn in hand as the French superstar reveals his decision following a transfer saga which has rumbled on for almost a year.
It comes just two days after Atletico announced they had reached an agreement to sign fellow France international and Monaco winger Thomas Lemar, which fuelled reports of Griezmann’s imminent exit.
The TV show will be broadcast on Spanish TV channel Cero and will be called ‘The Decision’
